Best thesis in computer science
Our CTO, Jarek Kwiecień was once again rewarded for his outstanding talent in computer science. He is the winner in the competition for the best master’s thesis in computer science.
His winning work was titled “Determination of conjunction queries in multiset semantics”, supervisor: Jerzy Marcinkowski.
Jarek will present his work during the final of the competition, which will take place on Friday, November 25 in room 25 of the Institute of Computer Science, University of Wrocław, starting at 10:00. We cordially invite students and employees of the faculty, as well as all interested persons.
In addition, two works received a distinction:
- Dominik Samorek, Robust Algorithm for Planar Objects Tracking in Real Life Cases, supervisor: Rafał Nowak
- Konrad Werblinski, Implementation of a compiler and a virtual machine for a programming language with algebraic effects, supervisor: Dariusz Biernacki
The departmental competition for the best theses is organized by The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Wrocław, in cooperation with Allianz Deutschland AG SA Branch in Poland. The prizes are awarded in 4 categories – bachelor’s theses in mathematics, master’s theses in mathematics, bachelor’s or engineer’s theses in computer science, and master’s theses in computer science (Przemka Kanarek award). This year, the total prize pool in the competition is PLN 19,500.
